Cougar Town: The Complete First Season
Here’s your chance to bring home the hottest single mom in town! Golden Globe nominee Courteney Cox (Friends) stars in the hilariously sexy hit comedy Cougar Town: The Complete First Season.
After spending the last seventeen years as a wife and mother, recently divorced Jules (Cox) has reluctantly waded back into the dating pool and quickly finds herself in over her head. Now forty-something and single, Jules is on the hunt for love in a world filled with guys not much older than her teenage son. It doesn’t help Jules that her two best friends can hardly stand each other, her ex-husband is hanging around more now than he did during their marriage … and there’s that handsome divorced neighbor that Jules can’t quite get out of her head.
Created by Karen Biegel and Bill Lawrence (Scrubs), Cougar Town is packed with laugh-out-loud moments and features a cast of television’s brightest comedic stars. Overall, I am a fan of Courtney Cox going back to her days as Monica on Friends, I really like this series, lots of funny lines every week, the writing is is crisp and to the point plus all the charactors seem to work really well together which to me is a clue to how a series will do. I think this one is a winner.

Clash of the Titans
A remake of the 1981 cult classic of the same name, Clash of the Titans follows demi-god Perseus (Sam Worthington) as he seeks revenge against the gods after the death of his family. His quest will see him embark on a grand adventure where he must battle many fantastic and horrifying creatures in order to rescue Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos) and the doomed city of Argos from the wrath of the gods. That's the story in a nutshell. Many characters from the original film have been jettisoned altogether and plot elements have been shifted around.
The original Clash of the Titans is an example of a movie you liked when it was released , but now it's just not as good as you remembered. It's quite funny, and the special effects – as dated as they were even when it came out – are really the biggest reason why it's still talked about. That said, the acting was pretty bad, with Harry Hamlin as a rather dull Perseus who just has things happen to him. While Worthington's Perseus may not have a terribly complicated or original arc, at least he actually drives the narrative forward, makes his own decisions, and has objectives he wants to achieve rather than simply reacting to the actions of others.
Worthington's Perseus is like a cross between Russell Crowe's Maximus and Jason Statham; he's an intense, scowling loner who speaks in a low and gravelly voice, kicks plenty of ass, and is rather wanting in the humor department. Liam Neeson brings his requisite gravitas to the role of Zeus, although it'd be pretty tough not to dominate the screen when you're as tall as he is and dressed in Excalibur-esque shining armor. He ably conveys the conflicted nature of the king of the gods, who is torn between anger and eternal love for his creations. Ralph Fiennes as Hades is sort of Voldemort Lite, but he must have enjoyed the taste of that Olympian scenery since he sure chews enough of it.
The new Titans definitely emphasizes the "clash" more than its predecessor did, but it's also a lot of sound and fury, and we should all know what that signifies. Despite its technical superiority, I can't imagine this Clash of the Titans inspiring a fan base that will last three decades let alone a desire to remake it one day. If you've already seen the movie and liked it, then you should be pleased with the good video, strong audio presentation, and decent supplemental package that includes a Maximum Movie Mode on this Blu-ray.
